NETGEAR LAUNCHES INDUSTRY’S FIRST SMALL BUSINESS VIDEO SURVEILLANCE SUITE

Combines Business-Class Network Switching, Network Storage, Network Video Recording Software and Network Management Components

SYDNEY — 22  May, 2012 — As more organisations look to video surveillance to minimise criminal threats and protect their assets, NETGEAR has released NETGEAR ReadyNAS® Surveillance, a comprehensive IP surveillance solution incorporating surveillance software, storage, switching and network management. The product suite is the first to combine business-class IP video technologies with customisable endpoint options, designed to offer simple and affordable video monitoring solutions targeted at SMBs.

“Offering easy-to-use network video recorder software, ReadyNAS Surveillance makes it both affordable and simple for any small business to protect itself with an IP video solution,” said Ryan Parker, managing director, NETGEAR Australia and New Zealand. “As an additional benefit, ReadyNAS Surveillance can be integrated with an existing NETGEAR ReadyNAS storage solution. This allows businesses to adopt surveillance solutions that work with an existing infrastructure for a fraction of the cost of traditional systems.”
While small businesses and corporate branch offices may require a complete video surveillance solution, they often lack networking expertise and budget. NETGEAR ReadyNAS Surveillance, which can connect with over 1,000 supported name-brand IP video camera models, merges four critical NETGEAR components into an affordable and simple suite for the first time:

  • The new NETGEAR ReadyNAS Surveillance Network Video Recorder (NVR) software includes intelligent search, digital watermark and e-mapping technology and supports up to 16 simultaneous cameras, including megapixel and HD models. Video may be viewed on the Web or played back on mobile clients, including Apple® iPhone®, Apple iPad®, Android™, and BlackBerry® devices.
  • The NETGEAR ReadyNAS family of network storage devices is an uncompromising business-class video platform. For example, the Pro 2 model offers up to 80Mbps (240 fps @1.3M, H.264).
  • NETGEAR ProSafe® Smart and Managed switches feature NETGEAR ProSafe hallmarks: VLAN support, Power over Ethernet, QoS, stacking technologies and simple installation.
  • Five NETGEAR Network Management Software (NMS200) licenses are also included. NMS200 is a single management platform for NETGEAR devices, ensuring connectivity, configuration and monitoring across all storage and switching components. Additional licenses are available to cover multi-site installations.

“NETGEAR ReadyNAS Surveillance brings professional quality surveillance technologies to the small and medium business market,” said Matt Pahnke, senior product marketing manager, NETGEAR. “We’re already the global leader in smart switching and in unified storage system units, and are delighted to bring to market the widest combination of products that’s easy to implement and manage for partners and end users alike.”
